Message from the Principal
Hello! I'm Rachelle Peters, and I am so excited to be the new principal at Algonquin Road School!
This is my 24th year in education. I earned my bachelor's degree in sociology and elementary education from University Wisconsin-Parkside and my master's degree in educational leadership from Aurora University. I taught 4th grade for nine years and I was assistant principal at the middle school of the same district for fourteen years.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my family, which includes my husband Matt, our daughter Noelle, and our sons Landyn and Hayden. I enjoy going on walks with our three-year-old Goldendoodle, Mercedes. I love traveling and often spend time outside of Nashville visiting Noelle, who is currently working on her master’s degree. I also enjoy being outdoors and soaking up the sunshine whenever I can.
Here are a few tips to help your child achieve their full potential:
- Establish a consistent homework routine: Designate a quiet, well-lit space for homework and set a regular time for its completion.
- Encourage reading: Read with your child daily, even for just 15-20 minutes. This helps develop vocabulary, comprehension, and a love of reading.
- Celebrate effort and progress: Focus on your child's hard work and improvement, rather than just grades.
- Communicate with the teacher: Use ParentSquare to stay in regular contact with your child's teacher to discuss their progress, address any concerns, and collaborate on strategies to support their learning.
We believe that by working together, we can create a strong foundation for your child's academic and personal growth. I’m so excited for the opportunity to serve as principal at Algonquin Road School! I can’t wait to get to know all of our amazing students and staff, build strong relationships, and celebrate all the great things happening in our school community. It’s going to be a fantastic year, and I’m truly honored to be part of it!
