Current Programming

Current Services and Supports

  • Fox River Grove School District 3 utilizes the services of the following staff members to meet the needs of their students:

    • Director of Special Education: Responsible for the leadership, administration supervision and compliance of all special education programs and services including Section 504 for the district. The Special Education Director, along the the building principals, supervises and directs special education teachers and related service employees.

    • Special Education Teachers: work with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities. They adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects, such as reading, writing, and math, to students with mild and moderate disabilities.

    • Program Assistants: Under the guidance of the Special Education Teachers, provide supports and services to students with a wide range of learning, mental, emotional and physical disabilities both in the general education setting and special education settings.

    • School Social Worker: Provides group and individual counseling for students and assists in developing positive behavioral intervention strategies.

    • Speech Pathologist: Provides speech and language services for the habilitation or prevention of communicative impairments.

    • Occupational Therapist: Assists the students in improving ability to perform tasks for independent functioning

    • School Psychologist: Administers psychological and educational tests, and other assessment procedures and interpreting assessment results. Provides group and individual counseling for students and assists in developing positive behavioral intervention strategies.

    • Physical Therapy: Includes gross motor development, mobility, use of adaptive equipment, and consultation and training in handling, positioning, and transferring students with physical impairments.

    • Vision Itinerant: Contract with surrounding districts to provide a shared service model to provide the supports and services for students with visual impairments.

    • Hearing Itinerant: Contract with surrounding districts to provide a shared service model to provide the supports and services for students with hearing impairments.

    • Autism Consultant: Contract with surrounding districts to provide a shared service model to provide the supports and services for students with autism.

    • Audiological Services: Contract with surrounding districts to provide a shared service model to provide the supports and services for students that require audiological supports and evaluations.

  • These services are evaluated on an ongoing basis to ensure the needs of all students are being met.
