A Message to Parents from Mrs. Machroli...
Dear Families,
Fall has arrived as well as cooler weather, which is much more conducive to learning!
There are two very important weeks that are commemorated this month - Fire Prevention Week and Red Ribbon Week. The Fox River Grove Fire Department will conduct an assembly for our children on October 12 th to reinforce fire safety. They also visited our school on September 16 th and evaluated our first fire drill of the school year. The children evacuated the building in a very timely and orderly fashion. This is also an excellent time to review fire safety with your children and what to do at home in the event of a fire.
Red Ribbon Week will run from October 24 through October 28. Mrs. Harmon, our district Social Worker, has planned special activities for each day. The classes will also be making posters that reflect the importance of saying "NO" to drugs. A note describing these special events will be sent home with each child.
As noted, our Halloween parade is scheduled for 2:00PM followed by the class parties. The children are allowed to bring their costumes to school that day and will dress prior to the parade. Violent accessories, knives or guns, should be left at home.
Please be aware of our changing weather conditions to ensure that your children have appropriate clothing for recess each day. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Karen Machroli
